Brad Smith

Brad Smith is Neuralink patient 3 and the first person with ALS to receive a Neuralink implant. He lives in Utah and received his implant at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix in November 2024 as part of the PRIME study. ALS has taken his ability to speak, so he writes with the implant and speaks through an AI copy of his voice built from earlier recordings.
